Early this morning, a redundant Juniper chassis switch failed. Alerting began at 6:29 a.m. local time, but the problem could not be resolved remotely. On-call staff arrived at the data center around 7:26 a.m. Analysis began at 7:36 a.m., rebooting the individual affected switch segment without success. The entire switch segment was then rebooted successfully, and all services were restored around 8:30 a.m. We are currently monitoring the situation closely and reserve the right to take further action (replacement, etc.) for short-term emergency maintenance in the evening. Affected were mail services and web hosting services.
